A few months ago, a long-awaited family vacation led my family and I back to our roots in Jamaica, where the narratives of my family began. While savouring the authentic Caribbean food and cherishing each other's presence, I found inspiration in the island's natural beauty but even more so with the family I was with. Those moments prompted me to take pause and acknowledge the privilege of embarking on such journeys with loved ones, who are both cherished and sometimes hardly seen just due to the busyness of life. Our time together was a harmonious blend of three generations and a reminder to me that real self-discovery comes from tracing the footsteps of those before you.
